Read Luke Chapter 12
We are intrinsically valuable to God and He cares for all our needs. God cares therefore, that we should not fear man or be influenced by false teaching worming its way into our thinking. When we become His child He has our backs: If we confess Jesus before men and not deny Him, He has our backs. Not only this, but when we confess Him before men He will help us to know how to speak. Therefore we should not fear men, but God:
Luke 12:4 “I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have no more that they can do. 5 But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him! 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God. 7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.”
Since God cares so much for us we need not concern ourselves with how we might flourish. We may store up wealth, but in the end it cannot change the outcome of our lives. We cannot add one day to our life span by worrying about these things so we must learn to rely upon God for everything prioritise things correctly. Jesus goes so far as to suggest that we have little faith if we do worry about these things and that we must put seeking after things of the Kingdom over all else. He says that if we do, all that we need will be supplied (12:13-34).
Luke 12:30 “For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but your Father knows that you need these things. 31 But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you.”
We must live as though Jesus could return at any minute. We must be ready, alert and working for the Kingdom. We must be good stewards of all that the Lord entrusts to us to do (12:35-48).
Luke 12:40 “You too, be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour that you do not expect.”
It is a sad fact that not all will be saved. It is even more heartbreaking to know that some of our family members will also not make it. But, despite this we must seek Him while we still can. If we do not the outcome is already decided or us (12:49-59).
Despite this God values all that He has made and has made a way for humans, the prime of all creatures to be saved. It’s His desire for all to be saved, if only we would come.
