Our Greatest Quest – The Hope of Forever
Of all the things that mankind seeks after, what would be the ultimate quest? What’s the one thing that we all seek, yet cannot seem to attain?
Is the search for immortality a fruitless one?
A Good Pruning Brings New Life
A friend asked the question, “Is it okay to prune my shrub back hard because it has become unruly and leggy?” I double checked online and then answered in the affirmative. My friend was concerned it would look dead and woody, so I assured them that they will get some nice fresh growth when it grows back.
Does your life need any pruning to encourage ‘fresh growth’?

Not by Works – Be Assured, Not Worked Up?
Some Christians question their assurance of salvation based on whether they said the right words when they prayed to receive Christ.
So, what are we to rely upon, and how are we to be saved?
Remember
Every year thousands gather to Remember the fallen from wars fought that allow us the freedom we enjoy today. Remembrance is in the heart of God for us humans, because we so easily forget the good things He has done.
“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13)

Being Perfect?
Mankind’s insatiable appetite for progress, improvement and perfection drives us to seek great achievements in fulfilling that appetite. One can easily become obsessed with things like accumulating knowledge, attaining athletic prowess or taking extreme measures to maintain our youthful good looks. But does this really achieve what it sets out to do…?
“I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that it’s not the answer.” (Jim Carrey)
Can a Leopard Change its Spots?
How many times have you heard the expression that a leopard cannot change its spots? Perhaps you don’t believe that people can change but, according to the Bible, even the worst of sinners who repent can be transformed.

Worship of the High Places
Worship can take many forms but the stipulation from Scripture is to worship in ‘Spirit and in Truth’. There is, however a danger of us committing idol worship. There can also be a tendency for us to add something to the simple worship of God. Let’s see what Manasseh, King of Israel did once he realised his mistake…
It’s Friday, But Sunday is Coming… – Luke 23
Finally, after all the plotting and scheming by the religious leaders they were getting their way and were openly calling for His demise. So that was that, Jesus would be crucified. His disciples and followers must have been confused and bewildered at this turn of events.
Death Will Pass-Over Luke 22 (22/24)
The whole of Jerusalem is preparing for Passover. Jesus, the Son of God will soon become the Passover Lamb. His sacrifice and the subsequent application of His blood will cause death to pass-over those to whom it is applied, freeing them from their slavery to sin and death.
The True Wealth of the Coming King – Luke 19 (19/24)
We pick up the account here in Jericho, but Jesus has always been heading towards Jerusalem. There is still much to be said and done, still more to learn from Jesus, but the very purpose of His visitation (to earth) will soon come to a head. Meanwhile, the jealous leading religious Jews of the city were looking for a way to destroy Him.
Eternal Perspective – Luke 18 (18/24)
Communicating with God is a fundamental aspect of our spiritual life. But God will not be mocked. God is spirit and He can see straight through to our hearts when we pray. If we think we can impress God with fancy prayers for all to see with an attitude of superiority because of our ‘self-righteousness’, we are sorely mistaken…
Stewardship – Luke 16 (16/24)
Stewardship is an important issue for the people of God. Above all else that we should be good stewards of, the Gospel message is chief among them, because the Gospel message is the power of God.
Lost and Found – Luke 15 (15/24)
This is what grace looks like: God giving us what we don’t deserve by seeking us and giving us a second chance. He is seeking the lost sheep and the things of value that were lost to Him. Those who are in-Christ, were lost but have now been found. What could be better than that?
Reject or Repent, How are you doing? – Luke 13 (13/24)
It is inherent within us to determine ‘how we are doing’ in relation to ‘making it’ to whatever one thinks heaven is; what happens when we die? will we make it? We instinctively know that we must give an account of ourselves…
Inner Life – Luke 11 (11/24)
Luke turns his attention to internal matters as he records the things Jesus taught. We learn that God is a benevolent God who wants to hear from us and is delighted to answer our prayers. Our inner life is vital. Trying to make ourselves righteous by own efforts will achieve nothing.
Who do you Say I Am? It’ll Cost You – Luke 9 (9/24)
Who do the people say that I am, who do you say I am? What is the cost and manner of service for the Lord Jesus? These questions are broached in this chapter…
Proclaiming Freedom from Oppression – Luke 4 (4/24)
…we find Jesus demonstrating His authority. He quotes from Isaiah 61 and claims to be the one spoken of in the text He has read.
Repent the King is Coming – Luke 3 (3/24)
Having heard about the striking circumstances surrounding the pregnancy of John the Baptist’s mother Elizabeth, we now see his calling and ministry.
Emmanuel (God with Us) – Luke 2 (2/24)
Luke takes us on a whistle stop tour from Jesus birth to when He was 12. Along the way we meet the shepherds who were the first to worship the Baby Jesus and after meeting Him could not keep quiet about all that they had seen…
Preparing the Way – Luke 1 (1/24)
Luke, a medical doctor in the first century undertook to collate all that he and others had seen with their own eyes. If they had been invented, he would have gone round with a dictaphone and note pad interviewing loads of people who had seen or been with Jesus from his birth to his death and beyond. With this information he wrote an orderly account of all that took place and recorded his wonderful historical document.

Isn’t it cruel to eternally punish those who don’t believe in Christ at the Judgement?
I’m sure there are many explanations as to the ‘why hell?’ question. I just wanted to share some of my thoughts on the subject…
